en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dongwon F&B has completed the construction of its second factory in Gwanghyewon-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, dedicated to protein food production.

Jincheon Second Factory

This state-of-the-art production facility represents a total investment of 140 billion KRW, with a total floor area of approximately 26,000 square meters across two floors above ground. The factory specializes in producing premium fish cakes and crab sticks with a fish meat content increased to over 80%. Dongwon F&B stated that the factory has a daily production capacity of 40 tons and 130,000 products, and by introducing cutting-edge equipment, it has improved quality competitiveness in terms of texture and yield.

Dongwon F&B plans to export skewer products and fish cakes to countries such as Japan and China, while targeting the U.S. and European markets with a product line of home meal replacements including frozen fried rice and frozen fried chicken. With this goal, the company aims to achieve sales of 300 billion KRW from this factory by 2030 and expand the export share to over 30%.

Dongwon F&B currently produces meat processed products such as Recheom (canned ham) and Grilly (refrigerated ham) at its existing Jincheon First Factory, while the Second Factory, through its "Protein Nexus" strategy as a protein food production platform, goes beyond existing meat proteins to organically connect to fresh and high-future-value aquatic proteins. This is because global protein demand is gradually increasing, and relying solely on meat protein supply faces limitations, while aquatic protein as a sustainable high-quality protein source is gaining attention. In particular, aquatic proteins such as tuna have higher density than meat proteins like beef and chicken, are rich in essential amino acids, and are highly regarded as high-value-added health functional foods.
