Wedoany.com Report-Mar 21, Exus Renewables has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google to supply clean energy from the Cascante wind project in Navarra, Spain.
Under the 10-year PPA, Exus will provide Google's Spanish operations with 35MW of renewable electricity output from the 51MW Cascante wind farm.
Laurent Jouvin, Director of Operations and Energy Management at Exus Renewables, said: “Exus Renewables and Google are deeply committed to decarbonising Europe’s economy.
“Through this partnership, we will be able to fast-track Spain’s renewable energy transition and enable Google to power its operations with clean, sustainable energy while mitigating energy price volatility.”
The PPA will help advance Google’s 24/7 carbon-free energy goals.
This agreement was facilitated through LEAP (LevelTen Energy’s Accelerated Process), which was co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy to make sourcing and executing clean energy PPAs more efficient.
“As we advance our goal to operate on clean energy every hour of every day by 2030, we are always looking for opportunities to accelerate the delivery of new affordable, reliable, clean power to the grid,” said Will Conkling, Director Energy Commercial Structuring at Google.
He added: “Using our scalable procurement approach, we’ve been able to collaborate efficiently with Exus Renewables and support our 24/7 carbon-free energy progress in Spain.”
