en.Wedoany.com Reported - Singapore-based fashion manufacturer Q Collection has completed construction of its new headquarters in Ashby, UK, located at Excelsior House on Excelsior Road in the town.
Q Collection produces garments and textiles for international fashion brands and retailers, focusing on high-quality, sustainable production. To establish a center of excellence in the UK, expand its team, scale operations, enhance technology, and have space to host clients, the company identified Ashby, situated in the heart of the Midlands, as the ideal location. Local workplace consultancy Blueprint Interiors was appointed to handle the interior design and fit-out of the 7,000-square-foot space.

After an eight-week fit-out phase, Q Collection now boasts a state-of-the-art office, design, and manufacturing facility. The facility includes an intimate apparel lab equipped with 14 sewing machines, cutting tables, cup molding machines, and a darkroom, as well as a knit lab featuring four full-size knitting machines, steam irons, and a yarn library. Other features include a fitting room for mannequin displays and photography, connected to a presentation area with tiered seating, alongside a runway. The space can be used for co-creation meetings, bringing designers and clients together to realize garment production, and utilizing 3D modeling technology to develop new collections. Additionally, Q Collection has a new client lounge that can be configured as a showroom or customized retail experience for displaying collections, equipped with large video conferencing equipment for global communication.

During the project, Blueprint encouraged Q Collection to pursue SKA certification. This is an environmental assessment method specifically developed for commercial office fit-outs, measuring sustainability in areas such as energy and water use, carbon emissions, materials, waste, and pollution. The project successfully achieved SKA Silver certification. Together with partner TecInteractive, Blueprint and Q Collection developed a "virtual quality lab," a space equipped with high-resolution, high-zoom cameras connected to the manufacturer's factories in Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, allowing colleagues thousands of miles away to observe samples in the lab for faster decision-making, saving time and costs.
Boutaina Faruq, Director of Q Collection, stated that the investment reflects the company's long-term commitment to the UK market, global brand partners, and innovation and sustainability. She mentioned that the team was a key factor in creating a people-centric space, and the new headquarters aims to inspire creativity and support employee well-being. Chloe Sproston, Creative Director at Blueprint Interiors, expressed that it was an honor to work with the Q Collection team again to complete this customized and innovative project, noting that achieving SKA Silver certification was a highlight. The team delivered a highly unique and technical space based on an in-depth understanding of Q Collection's operational complexities.
This is the third project Blueprint has delivered for Q Collection, having previously worked on the design of its Singapore headquarters and a new office facility in Sri Lanka accommodating 50 people. Q Collection is considering further expansion in the Midlands and hopes to encourage more manufacturing businesses to return to the region.
