Wedoany.com Report-Apr 5, Spain’s goal to accelerate renewable energy production is gaining momentum as the country allocates €297.3 million through the Renoval program under IDAE. The funds will support 34 projects aimed at manufacturing critical components for green hydrogen, wind energy, solar power, and battery storage.
The distribution of funding highlights a strong focus on renewable energy sectors. Over €200 million is already allocated to Sunwafe SL, a company in Gijón, for building a solar ingot and wafer factory. This marks a significant step in advancing solar technology.
Notable bidders include Matteco in Valencia, which specializes in green hydrogen production, and Ariema Enerxía, which is constructing a 200 MW electrolyzer factory in Huelva. Other selected projects are spread across 12 autonomous communities, with regions like Galicia and Extremadura receiving notable allocations.
Key partners like ARaymond Spain and Navantia in A Coruña are also playing pivotal roles in the initiative. The program is part of Spain’s broader strategy under the REPowerEU plan, aimed at supporting the country’s energy transition. This funding allocation underscores the government’s commitment to sustainable growth and environmental responsibility.
