en.Wedoany.com Reported - UK full-fibre network operator CityFibre has extended its long-term partnership with telecom operator VodafoneThree, with CityFibre serving as the preferred supplier for network transmission to connect multiple mobile sites across the UK in support of 5G standalone network construction.
CityFibre's digital infrastructure will support VodafoneThree's retail broadband business, which, as the UK's fastest-growing broadband service, currently covers over 4.7 million premises.
The agreement covers CityFibre's subsequent network expansion plans, which will bring total coverage to over 8 million premises, helping VodafoneThree continue its expansion in the broadband market. The two companies have previously collaborated deeply, with Vodafone participating in CityFibre's national residential fibre deployment project, the first of its kind in the UK.
Currently, over 330,000 Vodafone residential broadband users access services via the CityFibre network, including Vodafone's 2.2Gbps symmetric home broadband service, which runs exclusively on CityFibre's 10Gb XGS-PON platform. These broadband products have enabled Vodafone to achieve high user penetration rates in CityFibre coverage areas.
CityFibre will continue to serve as VodafoneThree's preferred supplier within its network coverage areas, with opportunities to support connectivity needs for some mobile sites. VodafoneThree has planned an £11 billion investment aimed at building the UK's leading network infrastructure.
