The company has announced the LONDON19 project, a new 32.5MW data centre located at the Slough Trading Estate, designed to increase capacity at a key UK digital infrastructure node and add a new AI facility for enterprise and cloud customers. The project will become the latest component of VIRTUS's UK campus, with the company's total operational and committed capacity now exceeding 300MW.

Located at the Slough Trading Estate, LONDON19 aims to meet the growing demand for scalable colocation capacity driven by AI workloads reshaping infrastructure needs. The facility will feature advanced cooling systems and sustainable building materials, and is designed to potentially export waste heat to the local community in the future. The building is expected to achieve a BREEAM "Excellent" rating and will include a rooftop equipment level.

A notable feature of the project is that it has secured planning permission through the Slough Trading Estate's Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ), which streamlines the development process in a market where delays can impact deployment timelines. SEGRO will construct the powered shell, after which VIRTUS will complete the technical fit-out, with construction expected to begin shortly after final design approval. The long-term partnership between the two companies has been a key part of the trading estate's ongoing expansion, which has been a focal point for UK data centre development for over two decades.
