en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sparkle Greece, the national subsidiary of Sparkle (Italy's first international service provider and one of the world's top operators), has announced that its Metamorfosis II data center has received Uptime Institute's Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility (TCCF). This certification, awarded after a rigorous evaluation of the facility and its operations by Uptime expert teams, confirms that the center's construction standards can ensure uninterrupted service, keeping mission-critical digital data secure and accessible during planned maintenance or equipment upgrades.

As enterprise and government services increasingly rely on cloud computing and artificial intelligence, the importance of highly resilient physical infrastructure becomes more pronounced. The Metamorfosis II facility currently supports a total peak capacity of 1282 kilowatts (kW), providing a high level of operational reliability for clients, including major banks and international technology companies. The facility also serves as a gateway for international data flows, directly connecting to the BlueMed submarine cable system, which links Greece to key hubs in Europe and the Middle East. Additionally, the upcoming GreenMed submarine cable project will create another strategic route across the Adriatic Sea, further solidifying Greece's position as a vital crossroads for international digital traffic.
The Metamorfosis II data center has also been recognized for its environmentally friendly design, with its efficient cooling system and overall approach already holding LEED Gold certification, demonstrating that high-performance data centers can balance technological power with environmental responsibility. Stefano Gigli, Chief Technology Officer of the Sparkle Group, stated that obtaining the Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility is a key milestone for the data center, validating that its design and operations meet the highest global industry standards. Daniele Mancuso, CEO of Sparkle Greece, noted that this certification, along with strategic investments in submarine projects such as BlueMed and GreenMed, reinforces the company's commitment to providing resilient, high-performance digital infrastructure for the Greek market, supporting the country's development into a key regional hub.
