en.Wedoany.com Reported - Venezuela's largest refinery, Amuay, resumed operations on Friday after a power outage, according to three sources, who said the refinery is currently processing about 140,000 barrels per day of crude oil, with the fluid catalytic cracking unit now operational. The Amuay refinery has a processing capacity of 645,000 barrels per day.
Two deadly earthquakes last week caused power outages that affected several refineries in Venezuela. Another source said the El Palito refinery, with a processing capacity of 146,000 barrels per day, has had its power supply restored, but workers are still unable to restart operational units.
Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA did not respond to a request for comment. Oil Minister Paula Henao stated last week that fuel supplies for domestic distribution are guaranteed.
