en.Wedoany.com Reported - GigaDevice has launched its first EEPROM product, the GD24CL series I²C EEPROM, which features high reliability, comprehensive security protection mechanisms, and low power consumption, targeting applications in industrial, energy, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and networking fields. This release further enriches GigaDevice's non-volatile memory product portfolio.

GD24CL Series I²C EEPROM

The GD24CL series is designed with high reliability as its core, offering up to 4 million program/erase cycles, four times the industry standard, ensuring reliable operation in scenarios with frequent parameter updates. It provides data retention of up to 100 years and integrates hardware-level Error Correction Code (ECC) functionality to enhance data integrity. The series supports an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C to accommodate harsh application environments.

The series supports three clock frequencies: 100kHz, 400kHz, and 1MHz, meeting I²C communication requirements from low-speed sensing devices to high-speed industrial control systems. The products support byte-level random read and write operations, suitable for scenarios with frequent updates of small data parameters, helping to improve system-level data write efficiency. In terms of security protection, the GD24CL series integrates a hardware-level Write Protect (WP) pin to prevent erroneous writes caused by system anomalies, software faults, or malicious attacks. Additionally, the device incorporates a writable-lockable Security Page; once locked, core data is permanently protected, eliminating the risk of data tampering at the hardware level.

In terms of power consumption, the GD24CL series operates over a voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V, with standby current as low as 1µA, read current as low as 1mA, and write current as low as 1.5mA, making it suitable for power-sensitive applications such as industrial IoT terminals and green data centers. The products support a simple low-pin-count I²C bus interface and offer various small package options, including SOP8 150 mil, TSSOP8 173 mil, and the more compact UDFN8 2×3 mm package, to meet the miniaturized PCB design requirements of modern electronic products.

The GD24CL series EEPROM offers memory capacities ranging from 32Kb to 1Mb. The first product, the GD24CL256B (256Kb device), is now available for sampling. 128Kb and 512Kb versions are planned for launch in the first half of next year.
