en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 2, Malaysia Airlines officially launched the Shenzhen–Kuala Lumpur route. The inaugural inbound flight MH522 departed from Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport with a load factor of 90%, arriving at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport at 1:15 AM local time on July 2.

The outbound flight MH523 departed from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport at 2:45 AM local time and arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6:45 AM. This route marks a significant step for Malaysia Airlines in expanding its presence in the Chinese market and deepening its route network in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, thereby enhancing connectivity between China and Malaysia.

Malaysia Airlines' Shenzhen–Kuala Lumpur route is operated by the Boeing 737-8 aircraft, featuring 12 business class seats and 162 economy class seats. Passengers can seamlessly connect via the Kuala Lumpur hub to destinations across Malaysia, ASEAN, South Asia, and beyond. Eligible international passengers transiting through Kuala Lumpur can explore one of eight major destinations in Malaysia on the same itinerary through the "Malaysia Transit Fly Free" product, without additional airfare, only paying relevant taxes and fees.

In the first half of this year, Malaysia Airlines carried over 500,000 passengers between China and Kuala Lumpur, with an average load factor of 86%. Following the resumption of daily direct flights from Chengdu to Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, Malaysia Airlines will officially launch the daily direct Changsha–Kuala Lumpur route on July 9. By then, Malaysia Airlines' China route network will expand to nine gateway cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Changsha, Hong Kong, and Taipei, operating up to 74 flights per week.
