en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 6, Polish green electricity trader Respect Energy signed a solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with German energy company Uniper, covering a 219MWp solar project in Poland. Under the arrangement, Respect Energy will purchase electricity and associated guarantees of origin generated by four solar projects held by Uniper in Poland, with a contract term of six years.

The four projects linked to this solar PPA are Pakosc, Klodawa, Domanowo, and Krotoszyce. Uniper plans to bring these solar projects into operation by 2028, as part of its expanding renewable energy asset portfolio. Uniper has already made final investment decisions on these solar projects and intends to deploy a total of 288MWp of solar capacity in Poland and the UK.

The solar PPA provides a contractual basis for subsequent project construction and electricity offtake. For developers, signing a solar PPA in advance helps enhance revenue certainty for the project and provides clearer commercial arrangements for financing, equipment procurement, and construction organization. For the offtaker Respect Energy, locking in the electricity and guarantees of origin from the 219MWp solar project helps expand its green electricity trading scale and serve corporate customers' procurement needs for renewable power.

Poland has been advancing the development of solar and wind power projects in recent years, with the role of solar PPAs in market-based electricity trading further increasing. This project portfolio still needs to proceed with engineering construction, grid connection, and commercial operation preparation as planned. The actual power supply scale will depend on project generation performance, contract execution, and electricity market demand.
