Wedoany.com Report-May 2, NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) has entered into an agreement with Suzlon for a 378-megawatt (MW) wind energy project, strengthening their collaboration on renewable energy initiatives. Together, the two companies are now developing wind power projects with a combined capacity of 1,544 MW.
Under the terms of the deal, Suzlon will supply 120 S144 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), each equipped with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT) and a capacity of 3.15 MW. Suzlon’s responsibilities include providing the turbines, managing foundation work, erection, and commissioning of the project. Additionally, the company will offer ongoing maintenance and support services to ensure the project’s long-term performance.
The partnership aligns with NGEL’s goal to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 60 gigawatts (GW) by 2032. This wind energy project is a significant step toward achieving that target, contributing to India’s sustainable energy landscape by harnessing wind power to deliver reliable and cost-effective electricity.
Girish Tanti, vice chairman of Suzlon Group, stated: “As NGEL aims to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 60 GW by 2032, this partnership lays a crucial foundation for showcasing the key role of wind in powering India's largest PSU's renewable journey by providing high-quality, affordable power.”
