en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nubia plans to launch a new flagship smartphone with an integrated system-level AI Agent at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai. Ni Fei, Senior Vice President of ZTE and President of its Mobile Devices Division, stated that the phone is the world's first AI Agent smartphone, though this claim currently comes from Nubia and has not been independently verified by third parties.

The phone will make its public debut at WAIC 2026, held in Shanghai from July 17 to 20. Shanghai officials have previously listed this AI Agent smartphone as one of the major new products planned for exhibition at the event.

Industry speculation suggests the device could be the commercial version of the second-generation Doudou smartphone, developed in collaboration between Nubia and ByteDance. However, Nubia has not confirmed the phone's name or its association with ByteDance. The earlier Nubia M153 was launched as a tech preview featuring ByteDance's Doudou AI assistant. Reports indicate that the initial limited edition of 30,000 units sold out on the first day of release.

Unlike traditional AI phones that primarily answer questions or generate content, Nubia says its new device integrates the AI Agent directly into the operating system.

The Agent is designed to understand natural language instructions and execute complex tasks across multiple applications without requiring the user to manually complete each step. For example, a user could ask the phone to book the cheapest flight to Beijing. The Agent would then open the necessary apps, compare prices, enter booking information, and complete the payment process. The system uses a graphical user interface (GUI) Agent and an on-device large language model. This setup allows the AI to visually understand and manipulate the phone's interface, rather than relying solely on direct access via application programming interfaces. ZTE says its CoClaw intelligent scheduling technology will also support communication across different apps and ecosystems, enabling the phone to perform more advanced automated tasks. Nubia has not yet announced the phone's hardware specifications, price, or commercial release date, with more details expected to be revealed when the device is showcased at WAIC 2026.
