en.Wedoany.com Reported - Deutsche Bank has announced a partnership with the Lufthansa Group to deploy approximately 1,600 metric tonnes of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in the aviation transport sector, which is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by around 5,500 tonnes—equivalent to the emissions from approximately 520 flights operated by an Airbus A320neo on the Frankfurt to London route. This initiative is part of Deutsche Bank's strategy to reduce the climate impact of its business travel.

The two companies will collaborate to deploy sustainable aviation fuel in the aviation sector

The agreement builds on a partnership established between the two companies in October 2025, when they jointly launched the Deutsche Bank Lufthansa Miles & More credit card.

Frank Naeve, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Distribution at the Lufthansa Group, stated that Deutsche Bank's decision to support the large-scale deployment of Sustainable Aviation Fuel demonstrates the importance of more sustainable flying in the business travel sector. He noted that the Lufthansa Group has been committed to the sustainable transformation of the aviation industry for years and offers customized solutions for companies through bulk SAF transactions. Companies can purchase large quantities of Sustainable Aviation Fuel from the Lufthansa Group, and with an investment of €2,000 or more, they receive a Scope 3 CO2 reduction certificate certified according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol standard, thereby making a measurable contribution to the climate impact of their business travel activities.
