en.Wedoany.com Reported - Telefónica Tech and Thales have jointly launched an IoT eSIM solution designed to simplify connectivity management for cross-border device deployments and reduce the technical complexity of multi-operator environments.

The innovation of this solution lies in its ability to integrate multiple operator profiles within a single eSIM card. It adopts the GSMA SGP.32 standard, which is specifically designed for remote provisioning of IoT SIM cards. Organizations can select which operator profile to activate based on the device's geographic location, manage all subscription services within a unified platform, and gain a consolidated view of global connectivity.
The Kite platform, as Telefónica Tech's managed IoT connectivity platform, integrates network connections from Telefónica Group and multiple third-party operators. All information converges into a single interface, thereby simplifying the management of large-scale international deployments. Telefónica Tech acts as a connectivity orchestrator, and the solution allows remote downloading of different operator profiles without the need for pre-integration across various networks.
This solution is primarily aimed at organizations running IoT projects in multiple countries that require rapid adjustment of connectivity configurations based on different market conditions. Its core advantages include flexible switching between connectivity providers, reduced operational time, and the elimination of technical barriers that traditionally complicate cross-border deployments. The integrated orchestration capability enables customers to manage operations without requiring specialized technical resources.
Juan José González Menaya, Head of IoT Connectivity at Telefónica Tech, stated that with this new eSIM solution, the company reinforces its commitment to providing advanced, global, flexible, and adaptable connectivity services to meet the challenges of an increasingly demanding IoT market. Customers will be able to fully manage their operations autonomously without the need for specialized resources, ensuring all orchestration capabilities are fully integrated into the system. Eva Rudin, Executive Vice President of Mobile Connectivity Solutions at Thales, noted that combining Thales' expertise in cybersecurity and eSIM technology with Telefónica's IoT ecosystem will help enterprises deploy and manage connected devices with confidence, at scale, and in full compliance with international standards.
