en.Wedoany.com Reported - Data center development and consulting company NFD Korea is building a 300-megawatt (MW) artificial intelligence-ready data center campus in Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. The company has secured the necessary site and construction permits for the project and signed a 300 MW power supply agreement with the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).

The campus will be built in six phases, specifically designed to support AI training and inference workloads. The target ready-for-service (RFS) date for Phase One is set for the first quarter of 2028. According to NFD, the campus can support liquid cooling solutions based on customer requirements, with rack power densities up to 160 kilowatts (kW).

Jae Woo Choi, CEO of NFD Korea, stated that South Korea is at a critical inflection point in demand for AI and cloud infrastructure. He noted that the project is unique due to its acquisition of large-scale land, power, and permits, its proximity to the Seoul Capital Area, a lower risk of public complaints within the industrial park, and its phased expansion campus structure.

In addition to the Dangjin project, NFD Korea is advancing a pipeline of multiple gigawatt-scale data center projects across South Korea. One such project, an 80 MW hyperscale data center in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, broke ground in September 2025 and is scheduled to become operational in 2028.

According to Mordor Intelligence, the South Korea data center market was valued at $1.65 billion in 2025. The market is expected to grow from $1.99 billion in 2026 to $5.02 billion by 2031, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.38% during the forecast period (2026-2031). In terms of IT load capacity, the market size is projected to grow from 1.96 gigawatts (GW) in 2025 to 6.32 GW by 2030, at a CAGR of 26.29% during the forecast period (2025-2030).
