en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 20, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming attended and delivered a speech at the launch seminar of the project to strengthen Nepal's agricultural system in Kathmandu. The project is funded by the China Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Nepalese Minister of Agriculture, Forests and Environment Choudhury, FAO Headquarters Representative Yang Hua, and FAO Country Representative in Nepal Ken Shimizu attended the event.

Zhang Maoming stated that agricultural cooperation is an important part of China-Nepal relations. China will actively implement the Global Development Initiative, and is willing to rely on the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund to share experiences in agricultural modernization, poverty reduction, and rural development, deepen technology transfer and talent training, help Nepal enhance agricultural production capacity and food security levels, and advance the building of a China-Nepal community with a shared future.

Nepal and the FAO expressed gratitude for the long-term support from the Chinese government, stating that they will steadily advance project implementation, continuously strengthen tripartite cooperation, enhance Nepal's agricultural production capacity, and promote agricultural modernization and sustainable development. The project, with a duration of 24 months, aims to promote climate-resilient agriculture, improve rural livelihoods, and focus on strengthening food and nutrition security in hilly and mountainous areas.
