Wedoany.com Report-May 27, Cyprus has advanced its energy infrastructure with the commissioning of a 3.3 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the Apollon PV Park, operated by the University of Cyprus. This project, the largest of its kind in the country, marks a significant milestone in integrating renewable energy solutions to enhance grid reliability.
The BESS is paired with a 5 MWp solar installation, operational for approximately six months, to form a combined system that supports grid stability, minimizes energy curtailment, and addresses peak demand.
