For corn, as of August 2, 90% of the crop in the top 18 corn-producing states had reached the silking stage, above the five-year average of 87%; 43% had reached the dough stage, above the five-year average of 38%. The dented stage data was released for the first time in this report, with 6% of the crop in 12 states reaching that stage, slightly above the five-year average of 5%. The weekly corn condition rating was 61% good to excellent, 25% fair, and 14% poor to very poor; last week's rating was 63% good to excellent, compared to 73% at the same time last year.

For soybeans, 88% of the crop in the top 18 soybean-producing states had bloomed, above the five-year average of 84%; 62% had set pods, above the five-year average of 55%. The weekly soybean condition rating was 63% good to excellent, 28% fair, and 9% poor to very poor; last week's rating was 63% good to excellent, compared to 69% at the same time last year.

Winter wheat had completed 86% of harvest in the top 18 producing states, in line with the five-year average. Spring wheat in the top six producing states had 98% headed, slightly above the five-year average of 97%; harvest progress was 5%, below the five-year average of 8%. The weekly spring wheat condition rating was 55% good to excellent, 33% fair, and 12% poor to very poor; last week's rating was 53% good to excellent, compared to 48% at the same time last year.

Oats in the top nine producing states had a harvest progress of 48%, above the five-year average of 42%. The weekly oat condition rating was 47% good to excellent, 29% fair, and 24% poor to very poor; last week's rating was 48% good to excellent, compared to 58% at the same time last year.
