Wedoany.com Report-Jun 4, Huawei hosted the Thailand Digital and AI Summit 2025 in Bangkok on May 29-30, 2025, in collaboration with Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES). The event, themed “Embrace AI, Ignite Future,” brought together over 2,000 participants, including government officials, industry leaders, and partners, to discuss leveraging advanced digital and AI technologies to strengthen Thailand’s digital economy and establish it as ASEAN’s digital and AI hub.

The summit highlighted the global shift toward digital and intelligent transformation as a driver of economic growth. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society, delivered a keynote, stating: “Under our ‘Growth Engine of Thailand’ policy, we are enhancing national digital competitiveness, ensuring a secure digital society, and nurturing digitally skilled talent.” His address underscored AI and digital innovation as key pillars of Thailand’s long-term national strategy.
David Li, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., emphasized Huawei’s commitment to supporting Thailand’s digital evolution. He said: “Through cutting-edge digital infrastructure and scenario-based solutions, Huawei empowers industries to drive intelligent transformation, foster AI innovation, and develop a thriving local ecosystem.” Huawei aims to collaborate with partners to build a sustainable, digital, and intelligent future for Thailand.
William Dong, President of Huawei Cloud Marketing, highlighted the role of AI in Thailand’s development, noting: “Huawei Cloud works with Thailand to build an ASEAN AI hub. We firmly believe that digitalisation and intelligence are not only a technological upgrade, but also an opportunity for Thailand to achieve leapfrog development.” The summit featured discussions on integrating AI across sectors like government, finance, education, healthcare, and retail.
A significant partnership was announced between Huawei and Chulalongkorn University to advance digital and AI innovation and train skilled professionals, boosting Thailand’s digital economy. By late 2024, Huawei had trained over 100,000 individuals in Thailand in advanced ICT skills. In 2025, the company plans to train an additional 20,000 in cloud computing and AI, and develop 10,000 specialists in 5.5G engineering and solar photovoltaic systems.
The event included specialized sessions, such as the IP Club, Ocean Club, OptiX Club, Huawei Cloud, and Digital Power gatherings, where participants shared strategies and success stories for adopting digital and intelligent technologies. Huawei, operating in Thailand for 26 years under its “In Thailand, For Thailand” commitment, aims to deepen collaboration to drive innovation and position Thailand as a regional leader in digital and AI advancements.
