Wedoany.com Report-Jun 6, PNE Group has successfully expanded its Gnutz West wind farm in northern Germany, commissioning four new turbines with a combined capacity of 22MW. Located in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district of Schleswig-Holstein, the upgraded facility now boasts a total installed capacity of 30.8MW, enhancing its contribution to renewable energy production.

The expansion includes two Vestas V162 turbines and two V150 turbines, each with a 5.6MW capacity. These units began supplying electricity to the grid in May 2025, strengthening the region’s clean energy infrastructure. The additional capacity is expected to generate sufficient power to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 16,700 three-person households, supporting sustainable energy consumption in the area.

Roland Stanze, chief operating officer of PNE AG, stated: “The Gnutz West wind farm is one of numerous cooperation projects that we are realising in Schleswig-Holstein together with landowners and citizens.” He added: “It is an example of how local interests and the strategic orientation of an Independent Power Producer like PNE can be combined in a dialogue that goes far beyond the classic leasing of land.”

This project underscores PNE Group’s commitment to collaborating with local stakeholders to advance renewable energy initiatives. By integrating community interests with its strategic goals, PNE ensures that the Gnutz West wind farm not only boosts clean energy output but also fosters positive relationships with landowners and residents in Schleswig-Holstein. The expansion aligns with broader efforts to promote sustainable energy solutions in Germany.
