en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 11, Vestas secured a turbine supply and installation contract for Statkraft Peru's Emma wind power project. Located in Peru, the project has a planned installed capacity of 72 MW, and Vestas will supply 16 V163-4.5 MW onshore wind turbines.

The contract scope includes the supply of wind turbine equipment and on-site installation, with a hub height of 119 meters for each turbine. Major components are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2027, and turbine commissioning is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2028. The order value and subsequent operations and maintenance service arrangements have not been disclosed.

The Emma wind power project is developed by Statkraft Peru and represents Statkraft's first wind power investment in Peru. Once completed, the project is expected to generate 325 million kWh of electricity annually, with a capacity factor exceeding 50%. Statkraft plans to integrate it with its hydropower assets in Peru and its ongoing solar photovoltaic projects to supply electricity to local industrial and commercial users.

Statkraft announced the construction plan for the Emma wind power project on June 30. The project incorporates wind power into the company's existing portfolio of hydropower and solar photovoltaic operations in Peru, and during the construction phase, priority will be given to local labor and suppliers that meet the project's requirements.

This order will bring Vestas' 4 MW platform back into the Peruvian market. Vestas has been operating wind power equipment maintenance services in Peru for over 10 years and is currently responsible for maintaining 62 turbines, with a combined installed capacity of 100 MW. Following the delivery of major components for the Emma project, the turbines will proceed through installation and commissioning phases in sequence.
