Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Vietnam's LICOGI to Boost UHMWPE Pipe Exports

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, August 12 — Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry (Central Research Institute of Huayi Group) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Vietnam's LICOGI General Import-Export Company (LICOGI-XNK) in Mile City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Chu Xiaodong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry, and Yang Junfeng, General Manager of LICOGI-XNK, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties.

Under the agreement, both parties will fully leverage their respective strengths in technology R&D, achievement transformation and market resources to establish an efficient collaborative mechanism, accelerating the large-scale application and industrial upgrading of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) pipes and related new materials in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian markets. Prior to the signing ceremony, a delegation from LICOGI-XNK visited the High-Performance Materials Engineering Research Center of Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry to learn about the technical advantages and market layout of UHMWPE pipes.

In the field of UHMWPE materials, Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry operates the "National Key Laboratory of Polyolefin Catalysis Technology and High-Performance Materials" and the "Petrochemical Industry UHMWPE Materials Industrial Technology Innovation Center" (Southwest Region) pipe R&D and pilot-scale production base. Its affiliated company, Yunnan Jinpule New Material Technology Co., Ltd., has successfully developed internationally leading large-diameter UHMWPE pipes and is the world's exclusive supplier of this premium specification product.

Chu Xiaodong, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry, stated that he hopes to leverage this signing as an opportunity, building on the resource advantages of Shanghai and Yunnan and combining them with Vietnam's market strengths, to jointly drive the iterative advancement of ultra-high molecular weight materials and collectively expand into the Southeast Asian market.
