The industrial complex, with a total investment of 1.5 billion reais (approximately 4100 billion KRW / $275 million), covers an area of about 770,000 square meters, with a building area of 70,000 square meters.

The factory will initially operate on a single-shift basis, focusing on the production of Duplex (side-by-side) model refrigerators, with an annual capacity exceeding 600,000 units and a maximum production rate of 230 units per hour (approximately one unit every 14 seconds). LG Electronics stated that the new factory will establish a dual production base structure in Brazil—the other being the Manaus factory, which has been in operation for 30 years.

The CEO of LG Electronics' Latin American division stated that local production in Brazil is crucial for maintaining business competitiveness. Through localized production, LG can reduce logistics time for product delivery to retail channels by 80%. The new factory will also support future exports to other South American markets, with exports to Argentina and Paraguay already planned. This is LG Electronics' first new factory construction in Brazil in over 20 years, and the company is further consolidating its competitiveness in the Brazilian and South American markets through the expansion of white goods production capacity.
