en.Wedoany.com Reported - MEAG (the asset management subsidiary of Munich Re Group) has sold its minority stakes in the two onshore wind farms, Horse Creek and Electra, in Texas, US, to Ardian, the existing investor in the projects, thereby concluding MEAG's investment in these two wind farms since 2017.

The Horse Creek and Electra wind farms have been connected to the grid and generating power since 2016, collectively providing 460MW of renewable energy within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market. Upon completion of the transaction, Ardian, a global private investment firm and long-term partner, now owns these two wind farms outright.

Gabriel Wagner, Head of MEAG's New York transactions, stated that the collaboration over the years has been constructive and expressed confidence that this transaction will lay a solid foundation for the next phase of the assets' lifecycle. Olivia Genereux, Infrastructure Director at Ardian, stated that consolidating full ownership of Horse Creek and Electra provides the platform and flexibility to execute the next phase of the asset management plan, unlocking their full potential, and looks forward to these assets continuing to play a role in one of the most dynamic power markets in the US.

In this transaction, Holland & Knight served as legal counsel to MEAG; Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and McGuireWoods served as legal counsel to Ardian, and Santander acted as financial advisor.

MEAG manages total assets of approximately $433.7 billion (€374.0 billion), of which around €63 billion comes from external investors. In October 2025, Ardian signed a definitive agreement to acquire all of Energia Group's equity from I Squared Capital.
