Alicante Port Launches Tender for First Phase of Western Zone Project Worth €1.53 Million

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Port Authority of Alicante has launched a public tender for the first phase of the urban renewal works in the Poniente area, project number 352/2026. The tender budget excluding VAT is €1,267,200, while the budget including VAT amounts to €1,533,300. The estimated contract value is €1,393,900, with a planned construction period of 5 months. The deadline for bid submission is 2:00 p.m. on September 16.

The first phase involves the former concession plots in the Poniente area, with the scope of works including the demolition and asbestos removal of the existing buildings on plots P-12, P-13, and P-14, as well as the former engine repair workshop and its ancillary structures. Plot P-12 covers an area of 4,154 square meters and currently houses two buildings and a central courtyard; Plot P-13 covers 3,589 square meters and currently contains two buildings and two vacant areas; Plot P-14 consists of two buildings and a courtyard.

The CPV content corresponding to the tender works includes building demolition and earthworks, asbestos removal, site demolition and levelling, as well as paving and asphalt works. The tender follows an open procedure, with the economic bid weighted at 60% and the technical proposal at 40%. No award decision has been published to date.

The Port Authority of Alicante has signed an agreement with the Valencian Regional Government regarding the land where the former Amaro facilities were located, and is in negotiations over adjacent plots. This tender constitutes the first phase of the redevelopment of the former Poniente concession area. In the 2027 corporate plan published by the Port Authority in July 2026, a total investment of €10.2 million has been allocated for the overall waterfront master plan and the urban renewal of the Poniente area; the total public and private investment planned for the port under the 2026–2030 plan amounts to €241 million.
