Wompou Gold Project in Mauritania Advances Exploration, Gold Grade Reaches 50.14 g/t
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 10, Raminvest Holding announced the advancement of the next phase of exploration at the Wompou gold project in Mauritania. Previous surface sampling assays returned a maximum gold grade of 50.14 g/t, based on which the company has delineated six priority targets, T-01 through T-06, with the next phase planning to conduct a first round of drilling tests. The Wompou project is located in the Mauritanides metallogenic belt, covers an exploration license area of 446 square kilometers, and is held by Raminvest Holding's Mauritanian subsidiary under license number 2265B2.

After statistical analysis of existing geochemical data, the company confirmed a strong correlation between arsenic and gold, with a correlation coefficient R of 0.989. Raminvest plans to use arsenic as an indicator element for subsequent target identification and, combined with existing sampling results, to further determine the extension direction of the mineralized zone and drill hole locations.
The next phase of work includes field verification, more detailed geological and geochemical surveys, and drilling at the six priority targets. The first round of drilling will focus on verifying mineralization continuity, geometry, grade distribution, and the potential scale of the ore body. The drilling remains subject to technical and regulatory approvals, after which a decision will be made on whether to proceed to the resource definition and subsequent development study stages.
Raminvest has not yet announced the number of holes for the first round of drilling, planned total meterage, drilling contractor, drilling budget, or start date. The company stated that follow-up work at the Wompou project will focus on target drilling, resource development, strategic cooperation, and project financing.
In addition to the Wompou gold project, Raminvest is also advancing the Tabatanet project in Mauritania through its BARAKA Mines subsidiary. The project covers an area of 496 square kilometers, with exploration targets including rare earth elements and niobium. Together, Wompou and Tabatanet form the company's portfolio of gold and critical mineral exploration assets in Mauritania.
