Turkmenistan Approves Modernization of Baherden Garment Factory

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the modernization plan for the Baherden garment factory at a Cabinet meeting and instructed Deputy Prime Minister for Trade and Textile Industry Nokerquly Atagulyyev to advance the subsequent implementation work. The project is being carried forward within the system of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, with the current modernization focusing on updating production technology, improving the utilization rate of existing capacity, and expanding product variety and output.

This plan is being advanced under a new round of technical transformation arrangements for enterprises under the Ministry of Textile Industry. The Cabinet meeting disclosed that relevant manufacturing enterprises are introducing modern technological equipment and expanding manufacturing capacity through equipment renewal and optimization of production organization. The Baherden garment factory has been included in this round of key modernization targets, and technical upgrades will subsequently be implemented around its existing production processes.

The Baherden garment factory had previously entered the government's modernization and operating mechanism adjustment plan. An earlier plan by the Turkmenistan government proposed reorganizing the factory into an open joint-stock company with the participation of both the Ministry of Textile Industry and private enterprises, with the Ministry of Textile Industry holding 40% of the shares and the private enterprise Gerçek ýigit holding 60%; the business direction determined at that time also included equipment modernization and expansion of product categories.

Turkmenistan's textile industry system has continuously implemented production equipment renewal in recent years, and existing textile enterprises have already introduced production equipment from countries such as Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Belgium. After this round of the Baherden project is approved, subsequent work will be organized and advanced by relevant government departments, focusing on production facilities, process technology, and the product system.
