en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 17, Guardian Glass Egypt officially inaugurated a new high-performance glass coating production line at its 10th of Ramadan City plant in Egypt, with an investment exceeding US$25 million. The new line uses vacuum magnetron sputtering coating technology to produce high-performance coated glass for the architectural sector, with approximately 80% of the additional output planned for supply to the Gulf and other overseas markets.

The project is equipped with fully automated sputtering coating equipment, and its products include Guardian ClimaGuard low-emissivity glass and Guardian SunGuard solar control glass, which are used in architectural curtain walls, doors and windows, and other architectural glass systems requiring thermal insulation and solar radiation control. When Guardian Glass launched the investment in this coating production line in September 2025, it had originally planned for the line to enter the operational phase in the second quarter of 2026.

After the new line was put into operation, the 10th of Ramadan City site expanded from its original float glass production to high-performance coated glass manufacturing. The project added approximately 30 engineering and operational positions, along with supporting training on the operation of new equipment and related technologies.

The Guardian Glass Egypt site was previously mainly equipped with float glass production lines. With the addition of the magnetron sputtering production process, the Egypt site has begun to possess the capability to locally produce high-performance low-emissivity and solar control glass.
