Under the agreement, the two parties will leverage their respective industrial foundations in complete vehicles, powertrains, core components, and high-end equipment to advance cooperation in areas such as core component supply, new energy product R&D, intelligent connected vehicles, and corporate management.

Shandong Heavy Industry owns industrial resources including Sinotruk, Weichai Power, and Hande Axle, with business operations covering multiple segments such as commercial vehicles, engines, transmissions, axles, new energy three-electric systems, and construction machinery. Recently, Shandong Heavy Industry showcased its product systems spanning complete vehicles, powertrains, axles, and three-electric systems at the IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany, further strengthening its coordinated layout in new energy vehicles and core components for commercial vehicles.

In this cooperation, core component supply is a key direction for industrial synergy between the two parties. BAIC Group has businesses in passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and new energy vehicles, while Shandong Heavy Industry possesses a relatively complete industrial chain foundation in powertrains, axles, and new energy systems. Going forward, the two parties can carry out adaptation development and supply coordination around powertrains, drivetrains, axles, and key new energy components, and further strengthen joint R&D of complete vehicles and core components.

New energy product R&D is also a key cooperation area identified in the agreement. Shandong Heavy Industry has been continuously advancing its green transformation in recent years, having established a layout in new energy commercial vehicles, three-electric systems, and related energy solutions; BAIC Group, meanwhile, continues to advance the development of new energy passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle products. The two parties will expand the scope of cooperation in new energy complete vehicle and core component matching, product development, and technical synergy. Shandong Heavy Industry is currently advancing its green, global, digital-intelligent, and ecosystem-oriented transformation, and extending its related technology systems to complete vehicle and equipment businesses.

In terms of intelligent connected vehicles, the agreement extends the scope of cooperation to vehicle intelligence and digital technologies. BAIC Group has been continuously advancing the application of intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit technologies in recent years, and Shandong Heavy Industry's commercial vehicle business has also introduced technologies such as advanced driver assistance and vehicle-to-everything connectivity into heavy truck products. Subsequent cooperation between the two parties will cover complete vehicle intelligence, vehicle-to-everything connectivity, and collaborative development of related systems.
