Velocity Group to Open 80,000-Square-Foot Facility in Ohio, Tripling Production Capacity

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 1, Velocity Group, a U.S. precision manufacturing company, announced plans to activate an 80,000-square-foot new manufacturing facility in Cambridge, Ohio, in early September. The new plant will consolidate the company's three existing production facilities into a single site and add more than 25,000 square feet of production space. Upon project completion, the company's overall production capacity is expected to triple its current level.

The new facility will continue to handle high-mix, low-to-medium-volume precision manufacturing operations, including injection molding, tooling, precision component machining, and electromechanical assembly. New equipment includes vertical two-station injection molding machines for insert molding and overmolding; large horizontal injection molding machines for large-scale component production and integrated molding of multiple parts; and Swiss-type CNC lathes for machining small, high-precision components such as connectors, shafts, fittings, and medical device parts.

Assembly operations will also be expanded in tandem. Velocity Group plans to more than double its subassembly and final assembly capabilities to take on larger, more complex electromechanical assemblies and automation projects. The new facility will also feature FDA Class 7 cleanroom injection molding capabilities for medical device-related manufacturing.

Data center infrastructure is one of the key application areas targeted by this expansion. Velocity Group will leverage the added capacity to produce complex precision components and assemblies required for data center power, cooling, and network systems, covering manufacturing needs related to enclosures, power distribution, connectors, heat exchange, and cooling equipment.

Velocity Group's existing manufacturing capabilities span injection molding, tooling, precision machining, and electronic and electromechanical product assembly. Once the new Cambridge facility is operational, production equipment and operations previously dispersed across three facilities will be consolidated, with new manufacturing capabilities added for the industrial, electronics, medical, and data center infrastructure sectors.
