The AG-640 handles both printing and contour cutting in a single device, reducing equipment configuration requirements and freeing up floor space, while also minimizing the steps involved in transferring materials between different machines. The printing system employs Roland DG TA-2 water-based latex ink and piezoelectric printheads, achieving precise ink droplet control on a variety of media while maintaining consistent output. The ink configuration features CMYK plus orange and red to expand the available color gamut; high-density white ink enables graphics on transparent, colored, and specialty media. The device includes an integrated optimizer to ensure ink placement, print consistency, and graphic durability on standard and specialty media.

The latex ink uses an instant-dry formulation, allowing printed materials to proceed to subsequent processing without waiting for outgassing. The ink forms a thin film on the media, preserving the substrate's original appearance and surface characteristics.
