The design of the DK-28 series aims to meet the specific needs of ships for power systems. Its core objectives and features include:
Improve Performance and Economy:
By increasing the mean effective pressure, lengthening the piston stroke, increasing the maximum combustion pressure and fuel injection pressure and other measures, the power density and fuel economy are significantly improved. Its fuel consumption rate is about 5% lower than that of the DL-28 series, reaching about 191-194 g/kWh.12Enhance Reliability and Durability: The main components are designed with 20% mechanical and thermal load margin. Key components such as cylinder heads use new materials such as vermicular graphite cast iron, and the expected life is 20%-50% longer than that of the DL-28 series. The structure reduces the number of parts and simplifies maintenance.

Optimize Emission and Environmental Performance:
By optimizing the fuel injection system, valve timing and adopting high-performance supercharging systems, NOx emissions are effectively reduced to meet the mandatory requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), while achieving low-smoke operation.
Improve Operational Adaptability:
It has good low-load performance and can operate stably at 10%-20% rated load, and can directly burn heavy fuel oil (including direct start and stop), reducing operating costs.12Compact and Lightweight Design: By casting cooling water, lubricating oil, intake manifold and other pipelines into the body, and optimizing the layout, the structure is more compact and the weight per unit power is reduced.
