en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 22, U.S. HVAC equipment manufacturer Carrier Global announced that it will invest more than $600 million over the next three years in Fort Worth, Texas, to build an advanced manufacturing and engineering center and expand its production capacity for commercial chillers and thermal management equipment. The project facility will cover more than 1 million square feet (approximately 92,900 square meters) and is scheduled to begin operations in 2027, with an expected 1,500 new jobs in manufacturing, engineering R&D, and technical roles.

The new manufacturing center is located in the AllianceTexas industrial park in Fort Worth and will focus on producing air-cooled and water-cooled commercial chillers, with products supplied to data centers, hospitals, educational institutions, and industrial facilities. According to local project construction documents, the project plans to utilize an existing industrial building of approximately 1.2 million square feet, renovating about 600,000 square feet of space, installing three production lines, and building office areas, a mezzanine, lifting facilities, and supporting production infrastructure.

Carrier plans to build an engineering R&D laboratory within the manufacturing center and collaborate with local schools and universities on technical talent training. The company's commercial HVAC business currently has a record-high order backlog, and the new capacity will primarily serve procurement demand from large commercial buildings and data centers for high-efficiency cooling equipment. The project also plans to apply for LEED green building certification.

According to the production schedule disclosed by Carrier's management, the new base will expand U.S. commercial chiller manufacturing scale, with the first production lines planned to start by late summer 2027 and a long-term annual output target of approximately 3,000 units. The base will complement the company's existing North American manufacturing facilities in terms of production capacity and will handle production tasks for new large commercial refrigeration equipment orders.
