en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Karnataka's Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, stated that Wipro Kawasaki Precision Machinery plans to invest ₹10 billion to build a hydraulic pump manufacturing facility in Phase V of the Harohalli Industrial Area. The company has applied for 30 acres of land for the project, which is expected to create approximately 1,200 new jobs. The Karnataka government plans to expedite land allocation, and the investment proposal will undergo final approval at the next relevant meeting.

The new plant is planned to produce over 200,000 hydraulic pumps annually, with operations expected to commence within one year. Wipro Kawasaki currently manufactures hydraulic pumps at a leased facility in Kumbalgodu, with an existing annual output of approximately 80,000 units. The company's website lists two production sites, Kumbalgodu and Bidadi, with Kumbalgodu commencing production in December 2012 and the Bidadi plant becoming operational in 2019.

Wipro Kawasaki was jointly established by Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Kawasaki Heavy Industries' related businesses. According to Wipro Infrastructure Engineering's 2026 corporate profile, the joint venture's current manufacturing scope includes hydraulic pumps for 7–36 ton excavators and swing motors for 20 ton excavators. The company's existing pump products include variable displacement axial piston pumps in the K3V/K5V, K3VLS, K7SP, K7V, and K8V series, some of which are also applied in equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, and concrete pumps.

The Harohalli project is currently in the investment and land approval stage. The Karnataka government has asked the company to initiate relevant preliminary work, with final investment approval, land allocation, and subsequent construction to be carried out in accordance with the next phase of approval arrangements.
