en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 21-month self-administered insolvency proceedings of machine tool manufacturer J.G. Weisser have come to an end, concluding with a management buyout (MBO) — four long-serving executives officially completed the notarization in early July 2026.

Ansgar Lienert, one of the four shareholders, has taken over as CEO and is steering the company's development. He states that the company's business strategy has quickly and clearly shown results, that the expertise held by the team and the economic core of J.G. Weisser remain in strong demand in international markets; current orders from Europe and Asia demonstrate the great trust customers place in their quality, and the company is now able to act fully independently and agilely. The clients commissioning these high-precision machine tool solutions include both European and Asian customers, and the positive response in international markets shows that the previous strategic course is working, enabling J.G. Weisser to operate in the market as a stronger, more independent player.

In addition to the new machine business, the after-sales service business is also developing well. The machine tool manufacturer is currently experiencing particularly strong demand in the areas of machine tool overhaul and retrofit, comprehensively overhauling precision lathes and machining centers to a high quality level, which precisely meets current customer needs. Many customers value the economic efficiency: through targeted repairs, the machine tool lifecycle can be significantly extended, and the productivity of existing equipment can be markedly increased. This trend has already brought J.G. Weisser more lucrative orders in the after-sales service sector.

The restart has secured approximately 150 jobs at the St. Georgen site for the long term. To guard against future market fluctuations, the company is also systematically advancing the diversification of its product portfolio and now successfully serves multiple industries including the automotive industry, energy sector, shipbuilding, defense, and medical technology.

At the AMB trade fair, the Weisser team will use the opportunity to showcase its innovative capabilities in the fields of manufacturing optimization and multifunctional turning machining centers, with a major focus on the new Multi Center — a flexibly usable machine tool platform suitable for demanding machining tasks.

This machine tool concept is designed for hard cutting machining and features high rigidity, process stability, and high machining quality. During development, particular emphasis was placed on operator-friendliness and maintenance-friendliness: good accessibility, short setup times, and a well-thought-out machine tool concept support users in their daily operations. The large 102-position tool changer and the automation inside the machine provide additional flexibility and enable high productivity and shorter process chains.

Ansgar Lienert holds the MBO together with co-shareholders Janik Dorer, Marc Asel, and Hannes Beck. He states that the company will continue to be a reliable partner for customers worldwide and has a clear vision: to establish the St. Georgen site as a hub for special-purpose machinery manufacturing.
