en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, UK-based scientific instrument manufacturer H.E.L. Group launched the ChemSCAN+ automated parallel catalysis screening system, available in 4-reactor and 8-reactor configurations, with each reactor equipped with up to 3 independent gas feed lines capable of performing start-up, gas introduction, venting, and purging operations separately. The system is designed for catalyst screening, chemical reaction optimization, and process development, enabling experiments under different temperatures, pressures, and gas compositions to be conducted simultaneously on the same platform.

ChemSCAN+ features an independent gas management architecture, allowing each reactor to have its reaction pressure, temperature, and gas supply programs set separately, with experimental data recorded independently. Compared with the ChemSCAN system, which uses shared gas lines, the new product allows different reactors to use their own gas combinations and experimental run sequences without waiting for other reactors to complete the same operations.

In terms of technical specifications, ChemSCAN+ can be used for catalytic reaction studies across a working volume range of 2 to 400 mL, depending on the reactor configuration. The maximum operating temperature of the equipment is 200°C, and some configurations can operate at pressures up to 200 bar, supporting high-pressure catalytic experiments and reaction process monitoring.

The system integrates real-time gas consumption measurement, recording the reaction process based on gas uptake changes in each reactor, supporting catalyst performance comparison and reaction kinetics studies. Researchers can individually adjust catalyst, solvent, pressure, temperature, and gas composition to conduct parallel testing under different reaction conditions.

The product is primarily aimed at hydrogenation reactions, carbonylation reactions, and syngas chemistry research, suitable for catalyst screening, reaction condition optimization, and chemical process development. H.E.L. Group has incorporated ChemSCAN+ into its parallel catalysis R&D equipment series, offering configurations including the semi-automated ChemSCAN SA, the automated ChemSCAN, and the independently gas-controlled ChemSCAN+ to meet different experimental automation needs.
