Wedoany.com Report-Jun 26, Aquatech, a water technology company based in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, has been chosen as the desalination technology partner for the Inner Harbor Water Treatment Campus in Corpus Christi, Texas. Upon completion in 2028, the facility will be the third largest seawater desalination plant in the Americas and the first of its kind in Texas, producing 30 million gallons (113 million liters) of potable water daily.
The project supports Corpus Christi’s efforts to secure a sustainable, drought-resilient water supply for the Coastal Bend region. The plant is designed to be among the world’s most energy-efficient desalination facilities, delivering high-quality drinking water while minimizing energy use. Construction is set to begin in early 2026, with Kiewit serving as the prime contractor and GHD providing process design services.
