Horizon Petroleum Initiates Production Test at Lachowice 7 Well in Poland, Initial Test Rate of 5.5 MMcf/d

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 25, Canadian company Horizon Petroleum announced that its wholly owned Polish subsidiary has completed acid stimulation operations at the Lachowice 7 well in the Bielsko-Biala concession area in southern Poland and has officially commenced production testing. Following the acid stimulation, the project team injected nitrogen via coiled tubing into the production string to facilitate flowback. As of approximately 6:30 a.m. Central European Time that day, the well had achieved natural flow of natural gas and condensate, no longer requiring continued reliance on coiled tubing or nitrogen assistance.

Preliminary flowback data show that the Lachowice 7 well achieved a natural gas flow rate of up to 5.5 million cubic feet per day, with a wellhead flowing pressure of approximately 2,500 psi, using a 28/64-inch choke for testing. The test is currently still in the wellbore cleanup and flowback stage, with water that entered the formation during prior workover operations and acid stimulation fluids being produced along with natural gas and condensate, so the current flow rate remains short-term test data. The company plans to continue testing at various flow rates for approximately 24–36 hours, and once gas and liquid production and wellhead pressure stabilize, to briefly shut in the well for pressure buildup, followed by production logging to identify the main inflow intervals of the reservoir.

This well has previously recorded strong natural gas test results. According to historical well data available to Horizon Petroleum, the Lachowice 7 well achieved a peak daily gas rate of 8.9 million cubic feet during testing in 1994, and in 1999 maintained a stable flow rate of approximately 3 million cubic feet per day for two consecutive weeks. The renewed testing after this workover and acid stimulation focuses on re-evaluating reservoir pressure, inflow distribution, and sustainable gas production capacity, providing a technical basis for subsequently determining whether the well meets commercial production conditions.

The Bielsko-Biala concession area where the Lachowice 7 well is located is an important asset for Horizon Petroleum's natural gas evaluation and development in Poland. The company is currently advancing its Polish natural gas project through a phased development approach, first re-verifying historical gas reservoirs through old well remediation, acid stimulation, and productivity testing, and then determining subsequent well patterns, facility tie-in, and commercial development plans based on stabilized flow rates and pressure buildup data. The restoration of natural gas production at the Lachowice 7 well provides new field data for the subsequent reserve evaluation and advancement of development plans in this block.
