United Aircraft's TD550 Shortlisted as China Post Unmanned Helicopter Supplier

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 30, United Aircraft disclosed that the candidate suppliers for the 2026 China Post UAV Equipment Model Resource Pool Procurement Project (second round) had completed the public announcement period. Beijing Zhonghangzhi Technology Co., Ltd. was shortlisted as a candidate supplier for Package 3, "Unmanned Helicopter Equipment Models," with the TD550 unmanned helicopter as its participating model. This China Post procurement was organized and implemented by China Postal Express & Logistics Co., Ltd., and the project is intended to build a resource pool of UAV equipment models for postal services.

The scope of this project is not a one-time purchase of a single batch of UAVs, but rather the selection of suppliers with their own equipment and flight support capabilities to subsequently provide China Post with UAV equipment leasing and supporting flight support services, supporting flight missions in different logistics scenarios. The project consists of four packages: multi-rotor, vertical take-off and landing compound-wing, unmanned helicopter, and fixed-wing. After being shortlisted, framework agreements will be signed, with a contract validity period of 2 years.

For the unmanned helicopter package, a total of 5 companies were shortlisted as candidates: Aerospace Guoyi Intelligent Equipment (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., Beijing Zhonghangzhi Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Hangjing Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., Zhongchuang Aviation Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., and Jiangxi Helicopter Co., Ltd. The public announcement period for the candidates was from September 17 to September 21.

According to the bidding requirements, suppliers participating in the unmanned helicopter package must be original UAV manufacturers and hold a civil unmanned aircraft operating certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China with an operating category that includes "cargo transport." The proposed models must also complete registration on the UOM platform, and their product applications must include scenarios such as logistics transportation, regional transportation, or urban logistics, while also having actual cases of UAV transportation or sales services.

The TD550 submitted by United Aircraft this time adopts a miniaturized, modular design and can take off, land, and deploy without the need for a large professional airport. In May of this year, China Post also separately launched an unmanned helicopter procurement project, which included the purchase of 6 tandem-rotor unmanned helicopters and 2 unmanned helicopters of other configurations, along with supporting ground control, support transportation, and ground station equipment. Beijing Zhonghangzhi had already entered the list of winning candidates for the unmanned helicopter package of other configurations at that time.
