NextGen in the U.S. Adds an 8-Color Flexo Press to Expand Label Capacity

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 29, NextGen Label Group in the U.S. ordered a second Gallus Labelmaster 440 flexographic press. The equipment is scheduled to be installed at its Cohoes, New York facility in early 2027 to replace the existing 11-inch Gallus EM 280. The new press is a 17-inch, 8-color configuration with a maximum mechanical speed of approximately 200 m/min, and will be used to increase production capacity for labels and packaging products.

The new press can be configured with finishing functions such as cold foil stamping, embossing, rotary screen printing, and die-cutting. It can handle both conventional pressure-sensitive label production and orders with higher requirements for decorative effects and multi-process finishing. The Gallus Labelmaster 440 has a maximum material width of approximately 445 mm and a maximum printing width of 440 mm. It adopts a modular platform design and can combine different printing and finishing units according to order types.

NextGen currently has two production sites and approximately 175 employees. Its products include pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, resealable labels, and RFID solutions. The company has continued to update its production equipment in recent years. Since 2022, it has added a 14-color Gallus Labelmaster 440 and introduced the Gallus One digital printing platform, which was later upgraded to the Gallus Five, while retaining flexographic printing, digital printing, RFID processing, and finishing capabilities.

The newly added 8-color Labelmaster 440 will further expand the flexographic printing capacity of the Cohoes facility and replace the narrower EM 280 equipment. The new press has a greater material width and higher operating speed than the existing model it replaces, while also shortening changeover and setup time between different orders, further covering the production of labels and packaging products in multiple specifications. Official Gallus information shows that the Labelmaster platform has a web path length of approximately 1.4 meters between printing units and is designed for fast changeovers and reduced material waste.
