en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 2, German specialty chemicals distributor Biesterfeld announced the expansion of its long-term partnership with Eastman, with its local South African company Aerontec responsible for authorized distribution of Eastman's coatings and inks product portfolio in the Southern African market. The new agreement covers 8 countries—South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Eswatini, Namibia, Malawi, and Botswana—and takes effect from the date of announcement.

The products included in this distribution scope comprise Texanol ester alcohol, Advantex neutralizing amine additive, Solus functional additives, Tetrashield protective resin systems, and Optifilm coalescing aid, as well as materials such as cellulose acetate butyrate, chlorinated polyolefins, methyl isoamyl ketone, and methyl n-amyl ketone. The portfolio covers multiple stages of coatings formulation, including film formation, rheology, adhesion, resin modification, and solvents.

These products primarily target applications in architectural coatings, automotive coatings, industrial coatings, commercial inks, and packaging inks, and can be used in architectural paints, automotive clearcoats, printing inks, and other graphic arts material formulations. Aerontec will provide local sales, warehousing, technical support, and formulation application services, and customers can obtain product supply and technical services through its local South African network.

Biesterfeld and Eastman have a partnership history of approximately 30 years in the European market, and this agreement extends the existing collaboration from multiple European countries to Southern Africa. Biesterfeld currently has more than 50 operating locations worldwide, with revenue of approximately 1.2 billion euros in fiscal year 2025; its South African operations are undertaken by Cape Town-based Aerontec.
