UK-based NaughtOne Opens 33,000 Sq Ft Furniture Manufacturing Facility

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 2, UK commercial furniture manufacturer NaughtOne opened its new Norquest House production facility in Birstall, West Yorkshire. The new factory covers approximately 33,000 square feet, nearly three times the size of its previous Elland production site, and for the first time brings production, warehousing, custom product development, and customer experience functions together under one roof, primarily handling furniture production for the UK and European markets.

Norquest House has been designated by NaughtOne as its new manufacturing "Centre for Excellence." The production area will continue to manufacture seating, sofas, and other commercial furniture, while also housing a new Custom Studio for the development of non-standard furniture, materials, finishes, and bespoke customer projects, as well as subsequent new product and upholstery process development.

NaughtOne's previous UK production base was located in Elland. The company adopts a regionalized manufacturing model, with its UK base primarily serving the European market, while also maintaining local production capacity in North America and Asia. The company currently has several collections, including Always, Always Lounge, Pullman, Dalby, Symbol, and Hatch, manufactured locally in Asia, while the UK factory continues to supply the full product portfolio and custom products.

The new factory also handles finished goods warehousing and order shipping. The integrated layout of production and warehousing areas reduces the material transfer between different stages of the original process. The site also includes spaces for customer reception, meetings, an employee cafeteria, and product displays, used for customer factory visits, product selection, and custom project development.

Norquest House is powered by renewable energy and has achieved an A-rated building energy performance certificate. The new location is closer to key suppliers and customers, and NaughtOne estimates that transport mileage can be reduced by approximately 8,500 miles per year.

This factory opening marks NaughtOne's fifth new facility milestone in the past three years. The company moved into its new Harrogate headquarters and opened a London showroom in 2024, and added showroom facilities in Chicago and New York in 2025. The Birstall factory this time takes on actual manufacturing and warehousing functions.
