en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 5, the fine ore stockyard of the Twin Hills Gold Mine project in Namibia, undertaken by China Fifteenth Metallurgical Construction Foreign Engineering Co., Ltd., completed all steel structure hoisting. The final component was aligned and installed, marking the conclusion of the main steel structure construction for the stockyard. The project is located in the Karibib area of central Namibia, and its associated processing plant is designed to process 5 million tonnes of ore per year. The hoisting work completed this time will now transition to the subsequent equipment installation and site construction phases.

The fine ore stockyard is part of the ore storage and transfer system of the processing plant, responsible for the temporary storage of crushed ore and feeding it to subsequent processing stages. This construction involved the hoisting, positioning, and fixing of multiple steel structure components, and the variable wind conditions in the mining area increased the difficulty of hoisting organization and installation precision control. Prior to construction, the project department completed a dedicated hoisting plan, reviewed component dimensions, lifting point positions, and on-site working conditions, and organized technical briefings and safety training.

During the hoisting process, on-site construction personnel completed the lifting, alignment, and fixing of components in accordance with the established sequence, while management personnel provided on-site supervision of key procedures. After the steel structure installation is completed, the project will continue with the installation of related equipment, site paving, and supporting facilities construction. The contractor has not yet disclosed the total weight of the steel structure hoisted, the number of components, the model of the lifting equipment, or the specific completion date for the next phase of the project.

The Twin Hills Gold Mine is developed by Osino Resources, a subsidiary of Shanjin International, using open-pit mining. According to the published processing plan, the ore will undergo three-stage crushing, ball milling, gravity separation, pre-oxidation, carbon-in-leach gold extraction, cyanide destruction, and tailings thickening and filtration. The fine ore stockyard is located between the crushing and subsequent processing stages, and the related storage and transfer facilities need to be installed and commissioned together with the ore crushing, grinding, and conveying equipment.

In 2026, the project has advanced pre-stripping for mining and the construction of the processing plant. On July 10, the first mining blast was completed, involving 255 blast holes and 35 tonnes of explosives. Shanjin International previously disclosed that the Twin Hills Gold Mine is planned to produce approximately 5 tonnes of gold per year after completion, and the project is still in the construction phase.
