en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 8, UAE real estate developer Nakheel awarded the marine and beach works contract for Island B of Dubai Islands to Mar Marine & Building Contracting L.L.C. The project is planned to reshape approximately 3 kilometers of coastline on the western side of the island and add 320 meters of new beachfront near the Bay Villas residential community, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Under the contract, Mar Marine is responsible for constructing new breakwaters, demolishing the existing rock armor slope protection along the coast, and creating a new beach area near Bay Villas. The scope of work also includes the renovation and restoration of several existing beaches on the western side of Island B, involving modifications to existing coastal protection structures and beach surfaces.

This coastal project is being implemented in conjunction with the Bay Villas residential development. The community is planned to comprise 636 residential units, including detached villas and townhouses. In August 2025, Nakheel awarded a residential construction contract worth AED 2.6 billion to Fibrex Contracting L.L.C., and the related residential construction will proceed in parallel with this coastal project.

A separate contract had previously been awarded for the infrastructure works on Island B. In April 2026, Nakheel awarded an infrastructure and utilities contract worth AED 527 million to Al Nasr Contracting Company, covering road and pavement works, water supply, power and telecommunications networks, drainage and sewage systems, as well as district cooling network connection facilities.

The overall Dubai Islands development consists of five islands with a total area of 18.6 square kilometers. The master plan includes approximately 62,000 residential units, more than 11,000 hotel rooms, and over 4,000 branded residences. This coastal project is located on the western side of Island B and is being implemented separately from the island's residential construction and infrastructure works.
