en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, U.S. electronic manufacturing company TTM Technologies announced an additional $400 million investment to expand production capacity at four factories in China and its Penang factory in Malaysia, with a focus on expanding capacity for advanced printed circuit boards and interconnect products required for artificial intelligence data centers and network equipment. This expansion involves five existing production facilities, implemented through renovation of existing plant areas and the addition of new equipment, and the investment amount is independent of the company's previously announced $1.2 billion investment plan for 2025 to 2029.

This investment focuses on expanding manufacturing capacity for advanced N+M asymmetric structure interconnect products, which serve customers in artificial intelligence data centers, large-scale cloud computing infrastructure, and network equipment. TTM Technologies plans to use existing production space for process adjustments and production line upgrades, and to increase production capacity for AI-specific printed circuit boards by deploying advanced manufacturing equipment.

The company is adopting an existing-facility expansion approach for this investment, combining newly added manufacturing equipment with existing production facilities, and implementing production space optimization and equipment integration. The four factories in China and the Penang factory in Malaysia will jointly undertake the expansion tasks, with the new capacity primarily targeting advanced interconnect products required for high-performance computing systems.

TTM Technologies had previously established a cumulative $1.2 billion investment plan for 2025 to 2029, covering manufacturing capacity building and related business expansion. The newly added $400 million is separately included in the expansion arrangement, and the two plans together correspond to an investment scale of $1.6 billion. The company plans to provide further details on the expansion arrangement at its third-quarter 2026 earnings conference call.
