en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, Murphy Oil Corporation announced the drilling results of the Bubale West-1X appraisal well in Block CI-103 offshore Côte d'Ivoire. The well was drilled in approximately 2,755 meters of water to a measured depth of approximately 5,900 meters, encountering approximately 27 meters of net oil pay in the Turonian reservoir and oil and gas shows in the deeper Albian reservoir. Preliminary log and fluid sample analysis results indicate that the target reservoir contains high-quality crude oil.

Bubale West-1X is located in offshore Block CI-103, where Murphy CI-103 Oil Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Murphy Oil, serves as operator with an 85% working interest, and Société Nationale d'Opérations Pétrolières de la Côte d'Ivoire (PETROCI) holds the remaining 15%. The log data and fluid samples obtained from this drilling will be incorporated into the existing subsurface geological dataset of the Bubale oil and gas structure to optimize the operational plan for the remaining appraisal wells on the structure.

The measured depth of the well and the water depth of the area correspond to different engineering parameters. The appraisal results cover two reservoir intervals, the Turonian and Albian, of which the approximately 27 meters of net oil thickness comes from the Turonian reservoir. The company will continue subsequent appraisal work on the Bubale structure based on the reservoir data obtained this time.
