en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 20, at the Microreactor Industry Co-construction Conference, Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group and Sichuan Energy Nuclear Industry Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement on joint R&D of key microreactor equipment. Wang Huiqiu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group, signed the agreement on site.
Sichuan Energy Nuclear Industry Co., Ltd. was jointly established under the leadership of Sichuan Energy Development Group and the Nuclear Power Institute of China. Focusing on three major industrial segments—advanced microreactors, green energy technologies, and nuclear technology applications—it aims to build a comprehensive nuclear energy industry platform integrating R&D, incubation, and investment, which is of great significance for accelerating the implementation of the world's first uranium-hydrogen-zirconium lead-bismuth microreactor demonstration project.
Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group is a leading enterprise in China's high-end heavy equipment manufacturing. It has achieved full coverage of nuclear-grade materials for nuclear island main equipment and possesses the capability to develop key components such as nuclear power main pipelines, main pump casings, pressure vessels, reactor internals, and small/micro reactors. It provides strong support for the construction of national key projects including "Hualong One," "Guohe One," and "Linglong One," and has outstanding advantages in the localization and batch manufacturing of nuclear energy equipment.
The uranium-hydrogen-zirconium lead-bismuth microreactor targets energy demand of 1 to 10 megawatts of electric power. It features excellent inherent safety, small size, light weight, and mobility, and can be widely applied in scenarios such as green energy supply for islands and reefs, offshore resource development, energy supply for remote areas, energy supply for mining areas and industrial parks, hydrogen production, and emergency backup power.
According to the agreement, Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group and Sichuan Energy Nuclear Industry Co., Ltd. will, based on the overall situation of building a new national energy system and the construction of Sichuan as a national strategic hinterland, fully leverage their respective resource and technological advantages to carry out long-term strategic cooperation, collaboratively advance microreactor technology breakthroughs and product R&D, strengthen the construction of the entire microreactor industry chain, connect the chains of technology R&D, equipment manufacturing, demonstration application, and market promotion, accelerate the transformation of advanced microreactor achievements and project implementation, build an independent and controllable microreactor industry ecosystem, and contribute to the optimization of the energy structure and the high-quality development of the nuclear industry.
