en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 23, the CB20 structural module of Unit 1 of the Guangdong Lianjiang Nuclear Power Project, constructed by China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Co., Ltd., was successfully hoisted into place, completing the heavy-lift task during the main construction phase of the unit. The CB20 module is located at the top of the nuclear island shield building and is an important component of the CAP1000 passive containment cooling system. With the completion of this hoisting, the subsequent construction focus of Unit 1 shifts to equipment installation, system connections, and commissioning-related work.

The CB20 structural module consists of inner and outer cylindrical wall panels, a top plate, and a conical bottom plate, forming an overall thin-walled annular structure. Due to the large size of the module and the relatively thin walls of its components, stringent requirements are placed on the force distribution at each lifting point and on structural deformation control during hoisting. After the module is lowered into position, precise alignment with the existing structure must also be completed.

To address potential structural deformation and physical interference during hoisting, the CNI23 Lianjiang Project Department used 3D scanning technology during the construction preparation phase to identify interference issues between the module and surrounding structures, and combined Building Information Modeling (BIM) to optimize the hoisting path and installation space. During the actual hoisting process, the project team used a wireless force measurement system to monitor the stress state of the slings in real time, adjust sling balance, and control the hoisting posture of the thin-walled annular module, ultimately completing the module placement.

Phase I of the Lianjiang Nuclear Power Project plans to build two nuclear power units with a single-unit capacity of 1.25 million kilowatts. Unit 1 previously completed 220 kV backfeed power transmission on October 22, with the off-site transmission lines, on-site switchyard, and auxiliary power supply system energized, providing power conditions for subsequent system commissioning.
