Tasmania, Australia Unveils AUD 45.6 Billion Infrastructure Project Pipeline
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 30, the Tasmanian state government of Australia released its latest ten-year infrastructure project pipeline, covering public and private investment projects totaling AUD 45.6 billion, spanning from the 2026–2027 financial year to the 2035–2036 financial year. Projects are distributed across energy, transport, water, health, education, and industrial infrastructure sectors, with energy infrastructure investment exceeding AUD 23.7 billion across 82 projects.

In terms of regional distribution, the project pipeline for northwestern Tasmania is approximately AUD 17.5 billion, the north AUD 13.3 billion, the south AUD 12.5 billion, with a further approximately AUD 2.4 billion in statewide projects. The project list covers the construction and upgrade of roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, irrigation facilities, water supply and wastewater treatment systems.
Energy infrastructure is one of the largest investment sectors in the pipeline, with related projects accounting for more than half of the total project value. Other projects involve advanced manufacturing, critical minerals, tourism, and digital infrastructure, with investment entities including government agencies, state-owned enterprises, local governments, and some private developers.
This update includes infrastructure projects that are planned for implementation and currently in progress, with project data collected between August and September 2026. The list primarily covers projects valued at AUD 5 million and above that have secured funding, received partial funding, or have a high likelihood of obtaining financing, and provides information including project location, asset owner, estimated value, design and construction procurement timing, and expected commencement dates.
The Tasmanian state government publishes an interactive project database through the Building Tasmania platform, allowing businesses to filter projects by industry, region, investment scale, and procurement stage. The database is updated approximately every six months. Project investment amounts, implementation timelines, and procurement arrangements are indicative information only; specific funding arrangements and tendering remain subject to subsequent announcements for each project.
